Import a game design document
Use your own AI chat to turn a design doc into characters, lore, tasks and more — free on every plan.
Import a game design document
Mythilo doesn’t read your document or call an AI for you. Instead, it gives you a prompt to use with the AI you already have — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other — and then imports what it produces. Your document goes only to the AI you choose.
Nothing is saved until you choose Import, and Undo this import removes exactly what it created.
Importing is free on every plan. Factions, character life events and the lore timeline need Pro, as they do everywhere else in Mythilo — on Free those parts are skipped and the preview tells you what was left out.
- Open Import in your project’s sidebar and choose what to pull out: characters, worlds, lore, tasks, roadmap, milestones (and factions on Pro).
- Choose Copy prompt, paste it into your AI chat, then paste your design document underneath it and send.
- Copy the AI’s whole reply back into Mythilo and choose Check import.
- Review the list, untick anything you don’t want, and choose Import.
- Items that already exist in the project (matched by name or title) are unticked for you.
- Very long documents can be done a section at a time, or in several replies — each import is separate.
- Dates must be in the form 2026-09-30; anything else is left blank and listed for you.
- An import is limited to 500 items. Pictures and assignees aren’t imported.
